Written Word: Do the trees ask for the lights to be turned on for
them to be seen falling. Hearing the silence as the water laps at my feet. A
haze of smoke, from thinking too hard, casts out across my gaze, I am alone!
To be alone is to be vulnerable to one's own
thoughts. As the stars become the lanterns in the sky, the fear of the darkness
within becomes more visceral.
I am alone and there is no one to save me from
breaking free from the anchors that hold me in this place.
About the Photo: Shot at Duncan Lake BC, Kootenay country, during the smoke-filled summer in the morning as the smoke was settled into the valley. The lone floating dock was the only thing visible in the water, outside of the very faint line where steep mountainous shoreline met the water. The entire scene made it feel so lonely, and truthfully, without another soul around, it was.
